Hello My People,

How Art Thou? Happy Fall Blessings as we enter fall season. I hope summer was everything and more for you. I know ,I know you all have read that the intense heat experienced this summer was enjoyed by me but really it was ok. July was spent moving slowly into my new home with early mornings moving items before the full on heat for the rest of the day hit.

The garden was put to sleep early ,it was challenging this year with the heat ,water issues at community garden and time. I was able to harvest some. sadly no sunflowers this year.

The final move in happened end of July, In this smaller space I was surrounded by stuff. Although alot of items big and small that no longer resonated with me or the new space were let go before ,clearly looking about the new digs more had to go. My worktable settled in place in the pre move felt right in front of the window which was a first for a creative location workspace for me .The setting of items that had not been seen in ten years languished packed in boxes unable to have a place until this overdue move. Its been like Christmas as each box and its contents finally being freed from storage, with ease and intuition my years of gifted ,collected pieces and art are finding spots in my sanctuary.

I have to say to the best of my curation abilities, many of my beloved items are being showcased .There are little vignettes throughout the 575 sq feet sanctuary, but I still need storage pieces for art materials, bathroom storage etc. The restrictions of this rental does limit my hanging art pieces due to no nails ,screws etc which means that the remainder of my art storage boxes will remain packed until a studio shows up or.

The view out the window from my worktable are of big trees and the outside communal space plus a resident squirrel that dashes back and forth daily across the top of the fence. Its peaceful outside with the occasional urban noises of police fire engines and racing cars.

On my worktable, new creative ideas are coming to life. My tea is now being sold at a local boutique full of other makers creations. I love the creating. Putting my work out and about is a whole different step for me. In October I hope to introduce you to a new series of work, for here and now it is in progress.

As an assemblage artist my many storage containers are full of diverse bits and pieces of possibilities in my creative opinion, when approaching new works, I often find myself thinking that i need to purchase this to make that, but then I am consistently reminded to use what I have as I tweak the vision. The lesson and blessing is an ongoing reminder for my creative process to make do with what is available to me while remaining open. As I fall in to a new season ,new home and new creative ideas I have much to be grateful for even when things are not as expected or wanted. But its all what is needed here and now.
