Well Hello There;
The sun is brilliantly shining outside today with a 6 Celsius temperature, the signs of spring have been slow in coming as the weather has been so erratic. Winter and Spring intertwined, waltz about ,my hopes is soon Spring will step up and take the lead letting winter go. Life here at the Art House has been focused on the installation project (No 2 Construction Battalion.) Three weeks deadline to install in the museum, still there are details that need attention but slowly its unfolding.
Although the a main creative focus is the project , time out from the project has been necessary from the get go.
The blessings of living near and having access to the ocean in my past life before New Brunswick has continually nudged me and I have felt called to the ocean. A few weeks ago thanx to my two wonderful nieces. an ocean adventure was planned and executed. I had read about a particular location that had my curiosity tingling. Blacks Harbour a Canadian village in Charlotte County is a tiny fishing village population 900, that sits on the Bay of Fundy and is close to the ferry terminal that allows island residents and tourists to hop a ferry to Grand Manan Island.

The other bonus was I was going to be able to beachcomb. Yahoo!!! Ocean gazing and breathing in ocean air plus beachcombing well that’s like winning the lottery for me.

One hour and 42 minutes later we arrive in Blacks Harbour and my energy is so lifted. The beach that we stroll to is close to the ferry terminal and its called a “seaglass beach” as i began walking about the beach taking everything in totally celebrating in the fact that I was at the ocean. I looked out at the ocean , a ferry was slowly gliding by making its way to Grand Manan Island. Time was limitless as i walked about the beach picking up seaglass, shells and rocks that called to me. When looking about there were beautiful trees ,vast expanse of water in front of me and seaweed strewn about.

It was a long beautiful day although chilly, the sun beamed and the sky a brilliant blue with the ocean in its magnificence. I miss being up close and personal with the ocean on a daily basis. On this day I was filled up promising to the ocean that i would be back.

I’m so glad you got away! Yes, breaks are needed especially when you’re working on the installation which has to be emotionally charged.
I miss the ocean so much. I grew up on literally on the ocean in our sailboat for 8 years and it’s ingrained in every cell of my body. I slept below or on the waterline and I can still hear it and all the creaking of of the wood and the sounds of the rigging. My favorite landscape is the Atlantic Ocean and rocky beaches in from of me and the forest (hopefully with many spruce trees) behind me.
