I had the pleasure and joy of thrifting on the Easter long weekend in the company of my nieces who transported me about. I was ready with anticipation to see what was meant to come home with me.
Despite our early start it appeared that others had the same idea of a thrift day as the stores were full up of like minded finders. I love the hunting and gathering. As a veteran thrifter knowing your prices is important. There were some things I had in mind to find but remained aware that staying open was the best approach to take
The second store was my fave which did not disappoint…My basket was filling quickly with meant to be pieces and then all of sudden right in front of me on a shelf was the cutest and my most coveted piece. I felt a pop up of intention and it was strong, without thinking I scooped up the piece with a big grin on my face and placed it gently in the basket with other coming home pieces.
So lets digress with the backstory of this beloved coveted piece. In my preteen/teen years I took piano lessons (royal conservatory) My piano teacher an older woman was accomplished in classical piano in which she shared her enthusiasm and skills with her students. Two things came out of those lessons one I had a good ear and two my piano teacher discovered I needed glasses.
I did love the piano but at my age then a full on commitment to follow through was not within me.
My mother told me i would regret that decision of walking away from the piano and ya know all these years later she was right in her assessment.
So when I saw that beautiful piano that was a jewelry box sitting there waiting on me, I knew that my life was a changing. I have been nomadic for most of my life so dragging a piano from place to place was utter nonsense. However I feel ready now to invite in a real life size piano( no plug in keyboards needed) when I find a live/work space that will accommodate my creative/ personal needs and putting down roots.
There is much talk about intentions and setting them. Heres the thing that intention of wanting and playing the piano has sat quietly for many years within waiting for the right time to pop up and re introduce itself. Ya gotta love divine timng…..That sweet little piano that found me is sitting proudly on my altar infused with hope, dreams and grand intentions.
