Hey There;

Good to see ya here. Here we are 365 days later with the calendar turned to another year. Happiest New Year to you. I do acknowledge the newest calendar year. On my path I choose three resets in every year. My Birthday , Samhain (October 31st) and Winter Solstice.

The celebration of New Years had never felt like me as ample space for flexibility (3 resets) became a better creative and personal flow plus 3 is my number lol. Winter is here and now with quiet and a real slow approach. Recalling my past and present, hustle has never been a part of my vocabulary or lifestyle.

The fact that slow living has become a trend leaves me baffled, that it is romanticised and seen as a life accessory and a selfie look at me.

This is the meaning I found online that sums up how I have moved through life. The thing is I have just been living  a simple life before this trend label.

Slow living is a life philosophy that emphasizes a slower pace of life, encouraging individuals to enjoy life more fully and appreciate sensory experiences. It promotes a mindset of being present and savoring moments rather than rushing through them, focusing on what truly matters in life. This approach fosters balance and harmony, prioritizing self-care and meaningful experiences over material possessions and external achievement.

Trends in no way are sustainable as they fizzle out as quick as they come to our attention, Trends feel like a hamster wheel with that hamster getting its exercise but not going anywhere but round and round. Life takes time no matter what you are doing and really what is the rush. My experiences interacting with nature shows the rhythm of slow in each season. Each season is deliberate, intentional and very individual. Slow living for me is a curation of many things that’s starts with mindset.

Already mid January and its taken me a minute to get this written and posted. I constantly putter between the kitchen and my work table as there is always something that asks for my time and attention which is freely given.

Reading more books has unfolded for me which is incorporated into my early morning wake up of 5 am, its interesting before i would reach for my iPad and scroll however the satisfaction level of the scroll has been wearing off for sometime now. Although audiobooks are a choice as being read to is enjoyable.

These past many months of setting my intention of reading began with a simple act of placing a book on my nightstand beside me and the iPad tucked in on the bottom shelf. Let me tell ya it takes way less effort upon waking to to roll over and grab that book. In the soundless dark mornings with my headlamp on I fall headlong into the words written on those pages for an hour or two before my meditation. Its such a beautiful gift of daily self care as there is absolutely no rush or deadline. Ever since I can remember slow has been my steps and my rhythm.

I do continue to love my little apartment as each week brings some new  project into fruition. Winter so supports many things on the inside as outside is doing their own thing. It’s taken me damn near a month to get this written as soon as this is posted it will be time to begin my muse letter. Good to see ya stop by. Take a minute, moment or a day to slow it way down give yourself the gift of you time cause you so deserve it…
