After Seven Months of focused creating another body of art work has been born. Its been four years that I have been living in New Brunswick,the creative flow has been consistent with diverse handmade items.

Tiny Movements was created out of my love of books and the free little libraries that contain diverse reading material for all ages. Due to the fact that I reside in a apartment it was not possible to have a life size little free library so going mini became a viable option,which then turned into creating 20 themed named and numbered series of little free libraries that would be showcased in a gallery setting.

When creating numerous pieces for gallery shows there are approaches that I’ve learned over time that has helped in my creative practice;

Write it down…..ideas,sketches,suggested materials,timeline,budget

Research

Set Work Time…..My creative practice is 5 days per week 9-4 Weekends 2-4 hours(i can be open about the weekend

Step Back…This is something I have to do throughout my creative practice as it constantly re frames

perspective and breathes new life into each piece being created.

Remain Open……This is one of the most important aspects of my creative practice. Regardless of my initial vision for the work. I;ve learned throughout time that sometimes things go take a different direction which in turn is a highest good way.

As I write this, today is the opening of Tiny Movements in Fredericton New Brunswick.
